Choose funeral arrangements (you have price-list rights)

Why it matters

Funeral costs vary widely. Federal law (the FTC "Funeral Rule") gives you the right to an itemised price list and to decline package add-ons.

How to do it

1. Check first for prepaid arrangements, burial insurance, or written wishes.
2. Under the Funeral Rule you can request a General Price List and buy only the items you want; a casket can be bought elsewhere.
3. Direct cremation/burial is a lower-cost option.
