Afterward is a private, offline guide that helps people through the practical steps after someone dies. This page explains how the app handles your information.
In short: Afterward collects no personal data.
No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking — the app doesn’t even use the internet. Nothing you enter ever leaves your device.
None. Afterward has no sign-in, no analytics, and no advertising. The app does not request the Internet permission and does not transmit any information.
Anything you enter — your intake answers, completed tasks, and any personal notes — is stored only on your device. It never leaves your phone, is not visible to us, and is removed when you choose “Start over” or uninstall the app.
Because no data is collected, none is shared with us or any third party.
The app is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your information stays in the app’s private on-device storage. Keeping your device itself secure (screen lock, OS updates) protects that local data.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
