Find any funeral wishes or a prepaid funeral plan before arranging
Why it matters
Many people leave instructions, prepay a plan, or hold funeral insurance. Finding these first can save money and honour their wishes — and you do not want to discover a paid plan after paying again.
How to do it
- Look in the will, personal papers, and emails for "funeral", "plan", "cremation", "burial".
- Ask close family whether wishes were ever discussed.
- Check for a funeral insurance policy or prepaid plan before signing with any provider.
