Why it matters
The VA may provide burial allowance, a national cemetery plot, a headstone/marker, a burial flag, and survivor benefits (DIC).
How to do it
- Contact the VA about burial benefits and survivor pension/DIC.
- Have their military service/discharge records (DD-214) if available.
